There are many exciting and fascinating cities of cultural and historical significance in and around the Middelburg area.
Getting aroundThe easiest way to travel around in Europe is by rail. The Dutch National Railroad--Nederlandse Spoorwegen--has a very user-friendly website which can help you plan your sightseeing throughout Europe. The Netherlands has a rich maritime history, so another convenient way to travel is by ferry. There is regular ferry service from the Hook of Holland--a two hour train ride from Middelburg--to Harwich, England. For more information, please visit the StenaLine's website. There are also value airlines in Europe such as Ryanair and EasyJet, which can make your trip a little faster. Ryanair flies directly out of Brussels, which is a two-hour train ride from Middelburg. From there, you can fly directly to many destinations (Dublin, London, Madrid, Rome, etc.) all of which are specified on Ryanair's route map. EasyJet flies out of both Brussels and Schiphol (Amsterdam) to various destinations outline on their route map. Of course, all major airlines fly out of Schiphol (Amsterdam), which is a two and one-half hour train ride from Middelburg. From there, you can fly to anywhere in the world. Sites of Interest
